Falling in Love with Fall Fashion

Now that the weather is getting colder (so sad I know!!!), it’s time to transition our wardrobes from summer to fall. Don’t get me wrong, I love my sweaters, booties, and cozy coats. I just find that it can be difficult to put an outfit together during those in between days where it’s like “is it too hot for this?” “will I be cold in that?”… basically my constant dilemma is being the perfect temperature, and taking advantage of our limited days we have with nice weather. So here are some of my tips to make the most out of your wardrobe and your pieces to take you through the seasons.

1) Shoes - I always had so much difficulty with this because I loooove my sandals, but I do find that having a closed toe shoe really makes an outfit less summer, and better for colder weather. My favourites are: sneakers/converse, flats, mules, booties, and a closed toe heel depending on what I’m doing.

2) Sweater Weather + Layering - honestly, I am obsessed with sweaters. I basically want one in every colour/shade/style/type etc. plus I like to layer a lot this time of year for warmth and style. I find that you can make your outfit look so different by throwing on a cardigan vs. turtleneck vs. crew neck (you get the deal).

3) Outwear - I love coats, jean jackets, bombers, peacoats, give me all the outwear. One, because I am cold all the time, and two, because I love how it changes up an outfit. My leather jacket if I want something edgier, my teddy coat if I’m on the go, my peacoat if I want to be warm and have a softer look.

Here are three looks I did with the same lavender satin midi skirt from Modum Boutique, a Canadian online clothing company (they’re currently having their end of summer sale, click here!):

  • keeping it casual: jean jacket, white tee, white converse

  • brunch with your babes: cropped sweater, flats

  • date night with bae: cami, leather jacket, heel booties

Let me know which look is your fav!

Xoxo,
